Half Day Sailboat Charter
Set sail from Ma‘alaea Harbor with just your family and friends and head west along the breathtaking Maui Coastline. Experience private snorkeling at your choice of either Coral Gardens or Olowalu, where you will find the largest and healthiest reefs in Maui. You can snorkel with an abundance of tropical fish, a variety of colorful corals and the endangered Green Sea Turtles. After a gourmet lunch on deck, we cruise back to port while watching for dolphins or whales.
TIP: We recommend this as a morning trip as Tradewinds tend to increase in the afternoons. Whale watching season typically starts mid-December and ends mid-April.
Full Day Private Sailing Excursion
Set sail from Ma‘alaea Harbor on Maui aboard your own private sailboat, the Island Star, for a full day of sailing, snorkeling, and fun away from the crowds. Anchor on the south side of the island in a remote, protected area. Snorkel on pristine coral reefs with an abundance of tropical fish, a variety of colorful corals and the endangered Green Sea Turtles.
The full day gives us the extra time to snorkel a second or third reef. After a full day of sailing, snorkeling, chef prepared lunch and sunbathing on deck, we’ll return to the marina just in time for sunset at sea.

Morgan and John were awesome!!!! The day was fantastic. We saw a whale, dolphins and sea turtles!!!! We had the continental breakfast which exceeded our expectations…the pastries were amazing. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous trip with wife and two teenage daughters. Crew was wonderful. Bryan was a very experienced captain and made the trip very enjoyable despite very challenging weather conditions. They were able to accommodate severe food allergies professionally. The boat is beautiful and very clean. If you’re looking for a special day at sea, you can’t go wrong with Island Star.
Best Whale Watching Experience
We have sailed on the Island Star on numerous occasions during our visits to Maui. Today was the absolute best whale watching experience ever. We were in a pod of about 30+ whales all around and under our boat. Thanks to Captain Mike and First Mate John who made this trip the most incredible ever.
